These include accounts payable, a new home warranty assistant, sales assistant, estimator and finish manager.

Candidates for the accounts payable position should have strong attention to detail and experience in QuickBooks. Windsong Properties prefers prior construction company experience, and Excel and administrative skills are a plus.

Requirements for the new home warranty assistant include excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Construction knowledge, Excel and administrative skills are a plus.

The new homes sales assistant must be detail oriented, organized and an excellent communicator. The position also requires strong administrative skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Applicants interested in the estimator position must be experienced in residential construction. Additionally, the position requires strong attention to details and analytics. Excel skills are a must.
 
Lastly, those interested in the finish manager position should have residential construction field experience.

Windsong on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio

Romeyn graduated from Harvard during the Beatles era and began his building career 36 years ago at Big Canoe in the North Georgia Mountains. Together, Romeyn and his business partner, Mark Carruth, started Windsong Properties 10 years ago.

Romeyn and Carruth are “baby boomers serving baby boomers,” as they build exclusively for active adults and are both in that stage of their lives. Windsong Properties is a small, locally-owned home and community builder, and provides active adults and empty nesters with single-family, detached ranch homes.
Active Adult Homebuilder in Georgia Windsong Properties’ newest project, Heron Pond, is located halfway between Woodstock and the city of Roswell just outside of East Cobb. This community has received a great deal of attention, and there are already more than 800 interested people on the community’s VIP list!

There will be just 75 homes available at this sought-after community, and Romeyn says that he expects to build at a pace of just three homes per month so that his team will be able to pay special attention to each and every home and meet each buyer’s specific needs.

Windsong Properties Goes for Red

American Heart Month has special meaning to active adult home builder Kris Johnson of Windsong Properties

ATLANTA – Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. During American Heart Month, many are sharing their stories of the disease and how it can be prevented. To help spread this awareness, Windsong Properties’ sales agent, Kris Johnson, shared her life-changing story with Piedmont Healthcare.

As a mother of two children and full-time sales agent at Windsong, Johnson is very busy. At just 47-years of age, she noticed symptoms that were bothersome and affected her daily life. Johnson experienced shortness of breath, did not feel rested after a full night’s sleep and had a burning in her neck, jaw and down her arms.

“I knew something was wrong, but my symptoms would always pass,” explained Johnson. “My symptoms didn’t stop me in my tracks like a heart attack. I had no tightness or pain in my chest.”

As a survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Johnson went through radiation at age 22. She did not know that long term effects from the treatment could lead to heart disease at an early age.

Luckily, Johnson went in for tests at Piedmont. Her cardiologist and interventional cardiologist were both shocked after finding two significant blockages. Johnson was able to be treated and is now on the path of achieving better heart health.

“It’s not about age. Just listen to your body,” Johnson advised. “You know your body better than anybody. You have to be your own best advocate. When your daily life is a little bit off, that’s when it’s time to take action.”

Working in an industry where more women than men are Realtors, Johnson is just one of several female sales agents working at Windsong Properties. Join the Pickle-ball® Craze at The Village at Towne Lake - Woodstock/Cherokee

The Pickle-ball® craze is spreading across the country from East to West and North to South.  Why is this outdoor sport with such an unusual name becoming so popular?

Pickle-ball® was created with one thing in mind: fun. It was designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re five, eighty-five or somewhere in between. Pickle-ball® is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickle-ball® paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. As owner, he earned numerous customer service and excellence awards from GuildQuality, an organization which conducts surveys to ensure customer satisfaction.

Every two years, Coles completes 14 hours of continuing education in order to stay a Georgia State Licensed Residential Contractor. In addition to keeping up with his education, Coles attends numerous seminars and courses offered by Shinn Consulting, a leader in the home-building industry. He also follows online journals, blogs and websites including Houzz, Pinterest and Builder Online.

Coles has served as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and is a member and 2013 president of Southeast Cherokee Business Network (SECBN) in Cherokee County.

Along with his passion for the building industry, Coles is an avid tennis player. He serves as captain of a local men’s ALTA and USTA tennis team. He has also coached soccer for his children’s teams for the past 12 years.
