HOMEAID ATLANTA PARTNERS WITH OVERHEAD DOOR COMPANY OF ATLANTA TO ASSIST CHRISTIAN CITY
Union City, GA - HomeAid Atlanta, in partnership with Overhead Door Company of Atlanta, completed a HomeAid Care Day at Christian City on Saturday, May 31, 2014. This was HomeAid’s first partnership with Christian City and its fourth time partnering with Overhead Door Company of Atlanta, HomeAid’s Volunteer Group of the Year in 2012.
A very hot day couldn't stop the crew of sixteen reliable employees from Overhead Door Co. who volunteered to help at this event. The group completed several projects over the course of the day: built a wooden fence to surround unsightly materials waiting for recycling, planted five flower beds, installed a slate walkway, and landscaped and pressure washed a cottage location, which Christian City plans to use for housing people living with disabilities.
Jean Hilyard, HomeAid Atlanta Executive Director states, “HomeAid Atlanta has had the fortune of working with Overhead Door Company of Atlanta’s volunteers on four HomeAid Care Days. They bring a group of skilled, hard-working employees who truly care about giving back to others in the community. We are extremely fortunate to have a volunteer partner in Overhead Door Company of Atlanta and we look forward to working together again next year.”
HomeAid is grateful to Overhead Door Company of Atlanta for their efforts on these much needed tasks. Thank you to Lowe’s for its donation of some of the building materials for
the fence, and to Christian City for its help in organizing and participating in the event.
