The Atlanta Home Building Industry Goes Hollywood!
The Movie Industry is big business in Atlanta! With the added income tax incentive for qualified productions, Hollywood has planted roots in the South, and movies like The Blindside, Parental Guidance and Flight have been shot in Atlanta Communities! On Tuesday, February 26th, several members of the Atlanta real estate industry attended "Lights! Camera! Georgia!" to learn more about how the Atlanta home building industry has gone Hollywood.
Speaker Sarah DeLart, the North Fulton Camera Ready Liaison for the GA Film and Television Industry, discussed how Georgia developed a tax credit program, how North Fulton became "Camera Ready," the process of how sites are selected, and which films have landed in North Fulton.
Speaker Deshana Wiggins, Executive Assistant to the Interim Directory of Special Events and Senior Film/Special Event Coordinator for the Mayor's Office, discussed the permitting process for filming activity on City streets, lanes and sidewalks in Atlanta. She also presented information on how the City of Atlanta welcomes and accommodates production companies and ensures a memorable experience.
