HARVEST BALLOON FESTIVAL RETURNS OCT. 15 WITH HIGH-FLYING ADVENTURES AT STERLING ON THE LAKE
The festival is taking fun to new heights with tethered balloon rides, a balloon glow and competitive races in the sky, and even more activities down below. The balloon race and launch will take place on Saturday and Sunday between 8 and 8:30 a.m., depending on weather and wind conditions. On land, guests can celebrate fall with pumpkin carvings, hay rides, face paintings, tasty treats, games, and live music throughout the day. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour new ranch model homes by Jim Chapman Communities for the Grand Opening of Sterling on the Lake’s newest neighborhood, The Springs.
“Our first Harvest Balloon Festival was a huge success bringing in nearly 8,000 guests, and we expect another great turnout and lots of fun again this year,” said Jennifer Landers, marketing director for Newland Communities, the nation’s largest privately owned developer of planned communities. “This festival is a great way to celebrate fall with friends and family, while enjoying the magnificence and excitement of beautiful hot air balloons.”
The Harvest Balloon Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15, with balloon rides offered on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. For a complete schedule, directions and to reserve a balloon ride, visit www.harvestballoonfestival.com or call (770) 967-9777. Admission into the festival is free, and parking is $5 per car. Money raised through parking fees and purchases will benefit the National Military Family Association, which provides support to families of the military, and Challenged Child and Friends, an organization that serves children with disabilities through educational, therapeutic, nursing and family counseling services.
