Dedication Ceremonies Announced for Two Shelter Projects
The Tapestry Youth Ministries duplex project in College Park will be dedicated on Tuesday, March 30. As you may remember, this project involved the complete renovation of a duplex which will serve homeless teen moms and their babies. The project began last April when volunteers from the Building Owners and Managers of Atlanta (BOMA-Atlanta) participated in an extensive HomeAid Care Day at the duplex. Following the Care Day, dozens of trade partners generously teamed up with HomeAid Atlanta to help complete the renovations.
The Phoenix Pass project in Conyers will be dedicated in mid-April. Phase one of this project includes the construction of an eight-unit apartment building and a lighthouse community center which will serve homeless families in the Conyers/Rockdale County area. HomeAid Atlanta, in partnership with Manor Homes and Horizon Home Builders, broke ground on the Phoenix Pass complex last July. The project brings a unique offering to the Rockdale County community: the first transitional housing opportunities for local families in need. The project was made possible in large part due to a generous construction grant from the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, in addition to tremendous support from many local trade partners.
