HomeAid Care Day at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries
FOX Sports South and FOX International transform grounds at men’s shelter
On Wednesday, June 6, HomeAid Atlanta partnered with FOX Sports South and FOX International for a HomeAid Care Day at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries (Clifton). The Care Day was part of 21st Century Fox Impact Week, a global initiative that gives its employees the opportunity to serve others while shining a light on local organizations that serve the community at large.
Clifton provides short-term emergency shelter and transitional housing for homeless men aged 35+ who seek self-sufficiency and independent living. Additionally, Clifton provides life-changing programs that include financial counseling and job and life skills training. HomeAid Atlanta is currently in the final phase of a renovation project at Clifton, led by volunteer Builder Captain Pat Morgan of First Street Builders, to remodel and repair both their emergency and transitional housing facilities.
The team of 30 FOX Sports South and FOX International volunteers completed a major landscaping overhaul, resulting in a total transformation of the grounds. This hardworking group completed several greatly-needed tasks, including clearing overgrowth, cutting back plants, weeding, painting picnic tables, mulching, and mowing the expansive lawn.
The work completed provided a savings of more than $6,000 for Clifton. In addition, Budget Dumpster generously donated two large dumpsters for landscaping debris, and both were filled beyond capacity by the end of the day.
“It was a wonderful day, and seeing the overall transformation of the property was inspiring,” said Stephanie Isenberg, FOX Sports South Marketing Manager. “We hope we made their house feel more like a home for the Clifton residents.”
Leslie Prince, Clifton Board President said, “There is no way we can adequately say thank you to HomeAid, FOX Sports South and FOX International for all of their efforts to make Care Day happen. The property looks absolutely magnificent; we are so proud and I know our neighbors are thrilled.”
