FORSYTH COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM GROWS AGAIN

Forsyth County Planning and Development has accepted a request from the Forsyth County Board of Education for a variance that will allow additional parking for a new middle school at the intersection of James Rd and McFarland.  The property is located on the South side of McFarland Parkway approximately 1400 feet west of the intersection with Union Hill Road and on the north side of James Road approximately 300 ft. west of the intersection with Union Hill Road. 
 

Most recently, the existing site was utilized as a landscaping business.  Total acreage is 29.1550 with proposed parking for 223 parking spaces and a 140,270 sq ft facility. The main entrance will be from McFarland Parkway.  Herring Township by John Thomas Homes is within walking distance from the proposed site, and expects this location to be another major employer for the McFarland/ South Forsyth area, while providing the homeowners access to excellent educational opportunities that Forsyth County continues to provide.
