John Slappey named 2009 Realtor of the Year and /#1 Top Producer in New Home Sales
March 2010 - The Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors awarded John Slappey with the 2009 Realtor of the Year Award. Each year this award is presented to a broker or sales associate member of the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors whose activities are primarily involved with sales, leasing, property management or management training in the real estate industry. This award recognizes a member for his or her Realtor spirit, civic activity, business accomplishments, and their local, state, and national association activity.
John was also recognized as the #1 Top Producer in New Home Sales. His achievement in sales is noted by a $14 million sales volume with 41 homes sold. He has worked in a suburban swim community of 128 homes with an average selling price of $299,900 and a townhome community with an average selling price of $159,900. Twenty percent of John’s clients are referrals from past clients or acquaintances.
John is a native of Georgia, having grown up in the eastern suburbs of Atlanta. His leadership extends beyond real estate and into his community and the world. John has participated in Habitat for Humanity, AID Gwinnett, and helped create the Builder’s Legacy Program at Christian City Home for Children that raised over $1,000,000 to build homes for foster children. He has given time and resources to mission work, including building homes in Nicaragua, a church in Honduras, and most recently leading a mission team to Cambodia.
John is an active member of the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors and is currently serving as president in 2010. He also serves on the Board of Directors for National Association of Realtors, Georgia Association of Realtors, and the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors. John has a passion for the Realtor Political Action Committee and has served on the local committee for several years. In 2008, John was selected as one of twenty from a pool of sixty five to participate in the Georgia Association of Realtors Leadership Academy.
