HomeAid Care Day at Solomon's Temple

HomeAid holds first Care Day of 2018 in southwest Atlanta

Rsz_homeaid_volunteers_at_solomons_templeOn March 23, HomeAid Atlanta held its first Care Day of 2018 at Solomon’s Temple in southwest Atlanta.  HomeAid Care Days are “done in a day” workdays providing free-of-charge maintenance and repairs for nonprofit organizations serving people experiencing homelessness in Atlanta.  Solomon’s Temple provides housing to single women and women with children as they strive to rebuild their lives.

Volunteers from Engel & Völkers Buckhead Atlanta, Kennesaw State University National Association of Home Builders Student Chapter, and Georgia Gwinnett College worked hard to complete much needed landscaping and gardening tasks. The groups transformed the grounds by clearing and replanting several garden beds, and re-mulching the playground and picnic areas.  Soon the residents at Solomon’s Temple will have fresh tomatoes, peppers, herbs and more from their very own garden.  The workday generated a savings of approximately $3,000 for Solomon’s Temple, funds that will be used to help meet the immediate needs of the women and children they serve.  Engel & Völkers Buckhead Atlanta provided financial support for the project, and Ross Davies of Super-Sod provided expert knowledge and planning assistance.

This was HomeAid’s third Care Day with Solomon’s Temple since 2015.  Following this Care Day, Kecia Baker, Solomon’s Temple Director of Programs and Facilities remarked, “It truly takes a village to make the world go ‘round and HomeAid has been our village! We've accomplished so much with the help of HomeAid and their good volunteers’ hard work. We are so grateful!”

Solomon’s Temple Executive Director Patricia Smith added, “HomeAid Atlanta makes us happy! We always know that when Jean Hilyard (HomeAid Atlanta Director of Community Engagement) shows up, we will be taken care of! HomeAid volunteers are well prepped and enthusiastic about accomplishing the goal.”

HomeAid Atlanta, founded in 2001, is a nonprofit organization that builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. HomeAid works in partnership with the building industry, as well as community building organizations, to assist people experiencing homelessness. To date, HomeAid Atlanta has completed over 100 housing, remodel and care day projects at locations that serve victims of domestic violence, teen mothers, veterans and more. HomeAid is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. Learn more at www.homeaidatlanta.org.

Paran Homes Raises the Curtain on Sweetwater Landing Model Home

Regional Homebuilder Debuts Professionally Decorated Model Home at Newest West Cobb Community

Rsz_the_kitchen_at_sweetwater_landings_new_model_home_by_paran_homes_lo_res_-_march_2018Duluth, Ga, March 30, 2018 – After witnessing highly favorable responses from homebuyers to its West Cobb communities at Thomason Park and Silver Springs Village in the City of Powder Springs, Paran Homes added a third community to the mix with Sweetwater Landing in late 2017. Now selling single-family, Craftsman-inspired homes priced from the mid $200,000’s, Sweetwater Landing has recently debuted its new model home to the public. Professionally merchandised by interior designer, Joy Kirkland of Innovative Interiors, the home showcases the three-story Piedmont floor plan – one of fifteen floor plans available at Sweetwater Landing.

“While Sweetwater Landing proves appealing to a wide variety of homebuyers, I used the ‘growing active family’ as my inspiration for the design of this community’s model home,” explained Kirkland. “The Piedmont floor plan is ideal for engaging family members, whether enjoying dinner in the large gourmet kitchen or playing games and watching movies together in the media room. I highlighted all of the secondary bedrooms with warm paint colors, creating a cozy space for children to relax and enjoy being home. Of course, my favorite space I’ve created for this home is the master bedroom. I wanted to keep the room soft and ethereal, making this a luxurious retreat for the homeowners. I love the classic pieces and scale of the room.”

In addition to serving as design inspiration for visitors, the model home features 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, game room, media room, spacious kitchen, sprawling owners’ suite and all the bells and whistles. Intended to give homebuyers a sense of what life could be like at Sweetwater Landing, the model home is just one example of more than a dozen available floor plans, which offer a blend of 1-to-3-story homes featuring 3-to-6-bedrooms, front or rear-entry garages and upscale interior finishes that include coffered ceilings, wainscoting, hardwood floors, gourmet kitchens and more.

“While our new, beautifully merchandised model home certainly enhances the sense of welcome and appeal at Sweetwater Landing, this community already offers its fair share of attraction for Atlanta homebuyers thanks to a great amenity package, low Cobb County taxes and a terrific location,” said Michael Rosenberg, President of Paran Homes. “Not only is the community located within walking distance of Powder Springs charming downtown area and the ballfields, playgrounds, picnic areas and swimming pool of Powder Springs Park, Sweetwater Landing is located a short drive from many of Atlanta’s most popular destinations. Sweetwater Landing residents can enjoy making regular excursions to Downtown Atlanta, braving the rollercoasters at Six Flags Over Georgia, hiking Kennesaw Mountain and catching an Atlanta Braves game at SunTrust Park.”

To get to Sweetwater Landing from Atlanta, take I-20 West to GA-6W/Thornton Rd-Exit 44 and follow it for 8.7 miles. The community will be ahead on the right. For GPS users, the address is 4686 Sweetwater Avenue in Powder Springs. Gwinnett's Vision of 'Success Lives Here' Thrives at Heritage Pointe

Paran Homes’ Newest Gwinnett County Community is at the Heart of Lawrenceville’s Employment Center

Rsz_2the_crestwood_by_paran_homes_-_one_of_five_floor_plans_available_at_heritage_pointe_in_lawrenceville_1Duluth, Ga, March 20, 2018  –  The tagline “Success Lives Here” was once emblazoned on a water tower that welcomed visitors and regular commuters to Gwinnett County for nearly 40 years. While the water tower no longer exists, the vision remains the same – if not more vibrant than ever. With a highly engaged county government and forward-thinking organizations like the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and Partnership Gwinnett making that tagline a reality by promoting Gwinnett County as the premier destination for people to live, work and play, builders like Paran Homes hope to share in that vision by building homes where people drawn to the area can live. To that end, the Southeast regional home builder recently debuted Heritage Pointe, a new home community in the heart of Lawrenceville.

Situated near Highway 316 and Buford Drive, Heritage Pointe is convenient to a variety of higher education institutions like University of Georgia’s Gwinnett Campus, Georgia Gwinnett College and Gwinnett Technical College, as well as a number of major employers such as Gwinnett Medical Center, Primerica, Mitsubishi Electric, Ricoh Electronics and two Fortune 500 companies - AGCO and Asbury Automotive, among others. To help foster the workforce of the next generation, students living in Heritage Pointe will be afforded access to the highly revered Gwinnett County Public School System – including Dyer Elementary, Twin Rivers Middle and Mountainview High Schools.

“With jobs ranking high on the list of reasons why people move to an area, Gwinnett County has been a major focal point for Paran Homes,” said Paran Homes’ President, Michael Rosenberg. “After all, our own headquarters are located here – so we understand the draw. We’ve already witnessed a great deal of success at Wheatfields Reserve in Grayson and Villas at Park Place in Stone Mountain, and we’re eager for Atlanta homebuyers to discover Heritage Pointe in Lawrenceville. In addition to being in the heart of a major employment center outside the perimeter – representing the ‘work’ part of the equation, the community offers convenience to the ‘play’ part of the equation, as well. Residents can shop and dine their way around the sprawling Mall of Georgia area, fly a jet out of Gwinnett County Airport, see a show at the Aurora Theatre in historic Downtown Lawrenceville, watch a baseball game at Coolray Field, catch a concert at Infinite Energy Arena, explore a number of Gwinnett’s award-winning parks… the list goes on and on. And when they’re ready to make the drive south to Downtown Atlanta, Heritage Pointe homeowners will benefit from proximity to I-85. Paran Homes rounds out the ‘live’ element of Gwinnett’s overarching ‘live, work, play’ vision with a collection of beautiful homes boasting a starting price of $285,990.”

Showcasing five stunning floor plans and a variety of elegant elevations from which to choose, homes in Heritage Pointe are now pre-selling. To select a homesite and launch construction on the floor plan of their choosing, prospective homebuyers are encouraged to visit the Heritage Pointe sales center, located at 900 Progress Drive in Lawrenceville. In addition to Heritage Pointe, Paran Homes has a presence throughout the Atlanta area in 10 new home communities stretching all the way from Jefferson to the North and Powder Springs to the West. Beyond Georgia, Paran Homes also offers communities in Tennessee and North Carolina. Josh Paterson Joins Paran Homes as VP of Construction

Osh_paterson_-_new_vp_of_construction_at_metro_atlanta-based_paran_homes

Commercial and Residential Construction Veteran Rounds Out the Leadership Team at Metro Atlanta-Based Regional Home Builder

Duluth, Ga, January 22, 2018 – Expanding throughout the Southeast with imaginative communities showcasing stunning new construction homes, Paran Homes is pleased to announce an expansion of a different sort: the growth of its leadership team with the addition of Josh Paterson as its new VP of Construction. Boasting a colorful portfolio that includes a number of highly respected builders and widely recognizable commercial brands, this newest team member has already hit the ground running as even more growth is projected for 2018 in Paran Homes’ major markets of Atlanta and Nashville.

“Josh brings with him a wealth of experience and a very cool body of work that includes construction projects for Bugaboo Creek Steakhouses, Dunkin Donuts, IHOP, Chilis, public schools and medical facilities, as well as a variety of communities launched by a number of builders who share a similar dedication to quality,” said Michael Rosenberg, President of Paran Homes. “Like us, Josh is very focused on the customer experience. He’s going to be looking to streamline processes, increase value and enhance our level of quality even further for the good of the Paran Homes’ buyer.”

Having launched his construction career in 1992, Paterson is considered a seasoned veteran with turns at GT Builders, Touchstone Homes, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods and Taylor Morrison. During his time at Touchstone Homes, he played an integral role in the company’s recognition as “America’s Best Builder” by Builder Magazine in 2007. During the early part of his career, Paterson also worked alongside his father at a family-owned construction company for a number of years where their largest account was Centex Homes. In addition to liking the fact that Paran Homes is a privately-owned company with an outstanding corporate culture, Paterson was drawn to the regional homebuilder by the opportunity it represents for him and the rest of the leadership team to take it to the next level.

“I hope to bring leadership, accountability and the best people and trade partners I can find to the Construction Division at Paran Homes,” said Paterson. “One of my first challenges is to rebuild our start process to an even-flow system for a more consistent timeline. It’s somewhat of an assembly line mentality for a more efficient process that benefits the buyer, our subcontractors and the company as a whole. It’s all about quality over quantity. As one result, Paran will be the builder of choice among subcontractors because they know when they show up, the project will be organized and the job will be ready for them. Customer service will continue to be a huge emphasis going forward. Marking another important element of the even-flow system and the additional time it allows, I will initiate quality assurance inspections prior to a buyer’s new home orientation. Not only will this ensure that the home is built to our standards, but it will also help us catch any potential defects and correct them. A short punch list at the new home orientation means well-deserved peace of mind for the buyer.”

In its home base of Georgia, Paran Homes has a presence throughout the Atlanta area in 14 new home communities stretching all the way from Jefferson to the North and Powder Springs to the West. Beyond Georgia, Paran Homes also boasts communities in Tennessee and North Carolina. Paran Homes Hits the Halfway Mark at The Woods of Midvale

Homes Priced from the $500’s are Selling Quickly in New DeKalb County Community

Paran Homes - Woods of Midvale - Azalea Floor Plan - smallDuluth, Ga, December 22, 2017 –  After announcing that construction was underway at The Woods of Midvale in November 2017, homes in this stunning enclave have been selling rapidly. With 10 of 20 single-family homes priced from the $500’s presold to date, Atlanta-based Paran Homes is at the halfway mark in the community that served as its introduction to both the City of Tucker and DeKalb County. The regional homebuilder has also launched construction on three of the remaining homesites to feature spec houses that will be available for a closing date in Spring 2018.

“We’re thrilled with the response thus far to The Woods of Midvale,” said Michael Rosenberg, President of Atlanta-based Paran Homes. “This community represents an excellent opportunity to purchase a new construction home in Tucker – something Atlanta homebuyers are clearly seeking. We’re finding that buyers are not only attracted to this awesome area of Atlanta and the imaginative floor plans we’ve selected for the community, but they also appreciate the idea of a semi-custom experience. Not only do they get to have their pick of the last seven estate-sized homesites – many of which offer private, beautifully wooded backyards, but they also get to choose from eight different floor plans. Once the home site and floor plan have been selected, they get to work with our talented team of professionals at the Paran Homes’ Design Center. There, they can choose all of the interior and exterior designer finishes that will make their home truly unique to their family’s specific needs, distinctive tastes and collective personality.”

For even more variety between one home and the next in The Woods at Midvale, each floor plan comes with a choice of three elevations. Some floor plans offer a desirable master on main, one-level living, 3-car garage and more. All residents of The Woods of Midvale will benefit from Paran Homes commitment to quality with energy-efficient construction and 30-year architectural roofs. To select a homesite and launch construction on the floor plan of their choosing, prospective homebuyers are encouraged to visit the Woods of Midvale sales center, located at 3533 Reevley Lane in Tucker.

In addition to beautiful homes, The Woods of Midvale provides its residents with convenience to everything the city of Tucker has to offer. Located near I-285, LaVista Road and Northlake Parkway, homeowners will enjoy shopping and dining in and around the Northlake Mall area. HomeAid Renovates at SafeHouse Outreach Service Center

Restroom renovation provides dignity for individuals experiencing homelessness

Vince Longo at SafeHouse_smallAtlanta, GA – In late December 2017, HomeAid Atlanta helped to complete a total renovation of the restroom facilities at SafeHouse Outreach’s downtown service center and headquarters.  SafeHouse Outreach is an Atlanta nonprofit with a mission to affect real change in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by providing a hand-up, not just a hand-out.

HomeAid Atlanta Builder Captain Vince Longo of Vincent Longo Custom Builders headed up construction efforts for this much-needed project. SafeHouse provides dinner every night for approximately 150 people experiencing homelessness, and the bathroom facilities were not keeping up. HomeAid’s completed project now provides additional space and dignity to those receiving assistance at SafeHouse.

This project marked Vince Longo’s third time partnering with HomeAid Atlanta. In 2015, Vince served as a volunteer Builder Captain for a total renovation and expansion with ADA upgrade of office facilities at Roswell’s The Drake House.  In late 2016 and early 2017, he led a series of HomeAid Care Days at SafeHouse with the Whitefield Academy Men’s Fraternity.

HomeAid provided a savings of approximately 82% of the total cost of the bathroom project.  Interceramic Tile & Stone Gallery generously donated 100% of the tile to help make this project possible.

"It has been a tremendous honor to work with HomeAid as they helped us renovate our bathroom. I'm excited to call HomeAid and SafeHouse Outreach partners in our work to impact lives in a positive way," said Josh Bray, CEO of SafeHouse Outreach.

HomeAid Atlanta, founded in 2001, is a nonprofit organization that builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. HomeAid works in partnership with the building industry, as well as community building organizations, to assist people experiencing homelessness. To date, HomeAid Atlanta has completed over 85 housing, remodel and care day projects at locations that serve victims of domestic violence, teen mothers, veterans and more. HomeAid is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. Learn more: www.homeaidatlanta.org.

Paran Homes Donates Site for Next St. Jude Dream Home

Southeast Homebuilder Gives the Gift of Land in Tennessee in Support of One of the Largest Fundraising Initiatives to Benefit Renowned Children’s Research Hospital

Rsz_st_jude_dream_home_groundbreaking_2Duluth, Ga, December 19, 2017 –  Founding Partner Whit Marshall and his team at Metro Atlanta-based Paran Homes celebrated the season of giving by donating Lot #48 at the regional builder’s Barrington Pointe community in Tennessee to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A ground-breaking ceremony was held at the site on December 12, with the launch of construction soon to follow on the next St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway represents one of the nonprofit organization’s largest fundraising initiatives, involving dozens of homes constructed by dedicated sponsors in cities across the nation each year. Donors purchase tickets for $100 each to be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a St. Jude Dream Home. Because St. Jude “funding comes from generous donors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Every dollar makes a difference. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”

“We are so happy to be partnering with Paran Homes to help the kids and families at St. Jude,” said Gus Issa, builder of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house. “We could not make it happen without the tremendous support of our trade partners who so graciously donate so much of their resources to make this endeavor successful each year.”

The nonprofit organization is currently hosting more than 30 Dream Home Giveaways all across the nation. All proceeds from the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee – which treats children in all 50 states and all around the world. The hospital freely shares the discoveries it makes. That means that for every child saved at St. Jude, doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. As a result, St. Jude’s efforts have helped push overall childhood cancer survival rates from 20% in 1962 to more than 80% today.

In addition to this recent donation of land to St. Jude, Paran Homes recently took part in a Toys for Tots drive at its communities and corporate headquarters throughout Metro Atlanta. For the second year in a row, the Southeast homebuilder collected hundreds of new, unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, with the goal of making the holidays a little bit brighter for even more children in need in the areas surrounding many of its Metro Atlanta communities.

“When we design and build our homes, we have this image in mind of the happy families who will one day live there,” said Marshall. “The truth is that – when faced with financial challenges, childhood illnesses or other catastrophic events – not every day is happy in the lives of so many families. With that in mind, my team and I – many of whom have families of our own – strive to do what we can for all of our neighbors in hopes that one day soon, the happy days will far outweigh the bad. We are so honored to partner with incredible nonprofit organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Toys for Tots who share that same mission.”

HomeAid and Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia Partner for Care Day

Mbag_group_resized

Groups prepare transitional home for residents in southwest Atlanta

Atlanta, GA – On Monday, December 11, HomeAid Atlanta partnered with the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia (MBAG) for a HomeAid Care Day at Jesus Set the Captive Free (JSCF) in southwest Atlanta.  Care Days are HomeAid’s volunteer workdays during which homeless service providers receive repairs and upgrades at little or no cost to them.  MBAG and HomeAid volunteers completed final tasks at JSCF’s newly renovated triplex.  To get the units ready for move-in, the hardworking group cleaned, painted, and installed blinds.  Sherwin-Williams provided paint donations. This Care Day provided a savings of approximately $2,000 for JSCF.

HomeAid volunteer Builder Captain James MacDowell of Unique Homes and Renovations renovated the triplex for JSCF earlier this year.  This was HomeAid’s second renovation for JSCF, whose mission is to empower homeless and previously incarcerated men, including veterans, with education, emotional, and faith-based support.  The triplex will serve as a transitional living facility as residents work rebuild their lives.

MBAG’s Care Day was held in conjunction with HomeAid’s Stock the House Drive, which garnered donations of housewares for JSCF, including dishes, small appliances, towels, and much more.  Many community members contributed to the Drive, donating approximately $2,000 in merchandise.  The collected items will help provide a warm welcome for future residents.

Alexandra Radford, co-chair of MBAG’s Lend-A-Hand Committee said, “We absolutely loved partnering with HomeAid Atlanta as our charity beneficiary this year.  HomeAid was both timely and flexible in coordinating the Care Day and event promotions with us. We received so much more than we gave at the Care Day! It was such a bonding experience to be able to give back to our community alongside the people we partner with every day in the real estate industry.  We welcome the opportunity to partner with HomeAid Atlanta again, and would recommend them to other associations evaluating charities to support.”

Paran Homes Introduces Active Adult Living to City of Stone Mountain

Southeast Homebuilder Debuts Quad-Style Homes Priced from the Low $200’s in Villas at Park Place

Duluth, Ga, December 1, 2017 –  According to AreaVibes.com, roughly a quarter of the population in the City of Stone Mountain, Georgia skews 55 or older. Add to that an abundance of recreational destinations – including one of the Peach State’s greatest draws in Stone Mountain Park, and Atlanta-based homebuilder Paran Homes felt it was the ideal site for its newest active adult community, Villas at Park Place. Boasting quad-style ranch homes priced from the low $200’s, Villas at Park Place features resort quality amenities in addition to two of Paran’s newest floor plans – The Augusta and The Veranda. Every bit as elegant as their names suggest, these floor plans boast all of the special finishes home buyers have come to expect from Paran Homes including gourmet kitchens with central island, open living spaces, spacious owner suites, enclosed patios for outdoor living and more. 000_article_paran

“After launching pre-sales in April, the reception from homebuyers so far has been incredible,” said Michael Rosenberg, President of Paran Homes. “Boasting 104 homes upon completion, we’ve already sold 21 homes to date. It’s clear that there was a need for active adult living in this area of Gwinnett County. Villas at Park Place already has a very active homeowners association in place. They encourage a true sense of community by planning movie nights at the local theater, pot luck dinners and cocktail hours at the clubhouse and water aerobics in the neighborhood pool – just to name a few. We’re finding that buyers truly appreciate the convenience of one-level living and the ability to customize their layout with flexible spaces and interior finishes. They also enjoy the quaint size of the community, access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and office with free WIFI in the clubhouse, and the community’s proximity to Stone Mountain Village and other Gwinnett County cities like Lilburn, Snellville, Tucker and Loganville. We invite homebuyers to discover Villas at Park Place, tour our brand new professionally decorated model home, take their pick of remaining homes and begin customizing their interior to fit their lifestyle and unique tastes.”

Located at the southern tip of Gwinnett County, Villas at Park Place offers its residents convenience to Highway 78 and I-285. Perhaps its biggest perk is the fact that Villas at Park Place is situated within three miles of one of Georgia’s most famous landmarks, Stone Mountain. Surrounding the mountain is a 3,200-acre park that features a scenic manmade lake, historic village and farmyard, picnic pavilions, campgrounds, a miniature golf course, passenger train, family-friendly adventure ropes course, network of walking trails and so much more. Stone Mountain Park also plays host to about 25 festivals and events annually – including the famed LaserShow, drawing millions of visitors to the area each year.

In addition to Villas at Park Place, Paran Homes has a presence throughout the Atlanta area in 13 new home communities stretching all the way from Jefferson to the North and Powder Springs to the West. Beyond Georgia, Paran Homes also boasts communities in Tennessee and North Carolina. To get to Villas at Park Place, take Highway 78 East toward Athens to Exit 9 – West Park Place, then turn right.  Travel approximately 1 mile, then turn left into the community on Villa Park Circle. To learn more about Villas at Park Place and other Paran Homes communities throughout the Southeast, home buyers are encouraged to visit www.paranhomes.com or call 678-726-9646.

Paran Homes Launches Toys for Tots Drives Throughout Atlanta

Regional Homebuilder Now Accepting New, Unwrapped Toys at Corporate Office and all Active Communities in Atlanta

Duluth, Ga, November 21, 2017 –  Each time Paran Homes launches a new community in the Southeast and breaks ground on a new home, its team members can’t help but imagine the families that will one day live there. They can envision memories being made and holidays being celebrated in those homes for years to come. Sadly, they also know that families come from all walks of life and their vision won’t hold true for everyone. In a desire to give back to those in need within one of the cities where Paran Homes’ has the greatest presence, the regional homebuilder has launched Toys for Tots Drives throughout Atlanta. Headquartered in Duluth, Paran Homes offers nine drop-off locations for anyone who wishes to participate. Now through December 15, Paran Homes will collect new, unwrapped toys and bikes at its Corporate Office and all participating Atlanta communities.

“2017 marks Paran Homes’ second year participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program,” said Lesa Ness, Marketing Manager for the regional homebuilder and organizer of the company-wide toy drive. “Last year, we teamed up with the Duluth Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and had a wildly successful year thanks to our homeowners, vendors, employees and community visitors. We are really hoping to double our efforts this year and make the holidays a little bit brighter for even more children in need throughout the Southeast.”

The list of communities where Paran Homes is collecting on behalf of Toys for Tots includes:

  • Oakleigh Pointe, Dallas GA,
  • Silver Springs Village, Powder Springs, GA
  • Sweetwater Landing, Powder Springs, GA
  • The Lakes of Franklin Goldmine, Cumming, GA
  • Traditions of Braselton, Jefferson GA
  • Wheatfields Reserve, Grayson, GA
  • Villas at Park Place, Stone Mountain, GA
  • The Woods of Midvale, Tucker GA

The Toys for Tots Program was launched by the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve in 1947. For the last 70 years, its mission has been to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the surrounding community. Paran Homes’ Corporate Office – located at 3005 Breckinridge Blvd., Suite 200 in Duluth, Georgia – is also now accepting toy donations. To find the addresses and hours of operation for communities where prospective gift-givers can drop off their toys at either the sales office or model home, please visit www.paranhomes.com.

Dan O’Dwyer Tackles Second Project as Volunteer Build Captain For Drake House Village.

The Drake House in Roswell, Georgia provides single mothers and their children in the North Metro Atlanta area short term housing while providing them educational, empowerment and mentoring programs that will help them to become financially self-sufficient and contributing citizens to their Communities.  Through the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s designated Charity, Home-Aid, Dan O’Dwyer of O’Dwyer Properties has volunteered to lead a total renovation of two existing eight-unit apartment buildings, more than doubling the Drake House’s capacity to serve homeless woman and their children.  This increase from 44 beds to 100 beds will afford the Drake House extended housing capacity for successful graduates for up to 24 months. “My goal is to save half the normal expenses for the renovation,” O’Dwyer told guests at the groundbreaking. Untitled-4

This will be the second Drake House volunteer project for Dan O’Dwyer, a former President of Homeaid. In 2006 he led a total renovation of two existing eight-unit apartment buildings, helping to give the Drake House its first crisis housing.  For Dan, building homes and giving back to the Community go hand in hand. His goal has always been to leave the world a better place and is reflected in his volunteer work and Company ethics. O’Dwyer Properties remains a small company with intimate dynamics and personal involvement.  “Driving onto the property and seeing those mothers with their children restarting their lives, it makes your heart glad, O’Dwyer remarked.

Traton Homes, Cobb’s Premier Builder, Again Partners with Cobb Christmas

Collects Toys at Its Model Homes Between November 10 – December 12

Marietta, Ga. (November 8, 2017) – “Cobb County is our home, and the holidays are such a heartwarming time of the year – so it’s easy to understand why we have made it an annual tradition to support Cobb Christmas,” says Kimberly Garwood, Traton’s Director of Marketing.

Cobb Christmas is a non-profit, non-denominational organization, dedicated to helping low-income and working-poor families of Cobb County during the holiday season. The organization, fully run by volunteers, provides gifts from infants to children up to fifteen years old. Each family gets a box of food, and each child receives a minimum of three age-appropriate toys.

Traton Homes has been a long-time partner with Cobb Christmas. “For more than a decade, we’ve collected toys through company, employee, community and vendor donations. At the end of the collection period, there’s nothing more gratifying than to stuff a Cobb County Transit Bus full of toys for kids in need,” says Garwood.

In addition to collecting toys at Traton’s corporate office at 720 Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta, all of Traton’s model homes throughout metro Atlanta also serve as drop-off locations for new, unwrapped toys. Other donations, including cash and food, may be made directly to Cobb Christmas at CobbChristmas.net.

The Changing of the Leaves - Gorgeous Colors - Spectacular Views - All minutes from your new home at Horizon at Laurel Canyon

No matter where you live, the changing of the leaves kicks off fall with gorgeous colors and spectacular views.  If you lived at Horizon at Laurel Canyon you would be just down the road from some of Georgia's most breathtaking mountain views.

Just a few miles down the road is Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge in the town of Dawsonville.  Located just an hour north of Atlanta , Dawsonville is home to the Southeast’s tallest cascading waterfall. A short, flat path leads to a boardwalk offering the most spectacular views. There’s also an easy-to-reach overlook at the top. For a tougher challenge, start from the bottom of the falls and hike up the steep staircase.

Kick it old school and hop aboard the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, departing from Blue Ridge, GA’s historic train depot built in 1905. For one month only (this year, October 1 through November 6) the railway offers its annual fall foliage ride. Starting in Blue Ridge, riders board the train and settle in for a four-hour, round-trip experience as it chugs along the Toccoa River giving riders a good dose of fall foliage.

In Ellijay, there are several pumpkin farms, mazes and apple orchards nearby with lots of activities for the whole family. Nowhere can the bounty of the season be better enjoyed than in Ellijay, known as the "Apple Capital of Georgia." Sitting at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest, Ellijay is home the annual Georgia Apple Festival Arts Crafts Show and numerous pick-your-own orchards. Each fall, Hillcrest Orchards hosts its Apple Pickin’ Jubilee when visitors can not only pick fruit, but also milk a cow, watch live pig races, take wagon rides and much more.  The views of the mountains are pretty spectacular too!

The Horizon at Laurel Canyon in Canton, Georgia is a lifestyle within itself. Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it offers golf, a clubhouse, pool, tennis and more. Spend the day meandering in the shops of downtown Canton or take a drive north to Ellijay, Jasper or Blue Ridge to watch the changing of the leaves.  Whichever you decide, you will be experiencing the good life in a Patrick Malloy Community home. Click here to see amenities

Designer touches like 7 ¼ inch base trim and crown moulding, wide plank hardwood floors, wainscoting, and trey, vaulted and coffered ceilings give the homeowner a sense of living grand without the hassle more square footage can bring. Porches with bead board ceilings, separated from living areas with optional tri-fold glass doors bring the outdoors in. Nothing is spared when it comes to elegance or convenience. Comfort living features like raised vanities, step-less showers with double shower heads and seats are just some of the features O’Dwyer Homes builds standard in their Villas.

Also understood with these homes is the need for smart storage when downsizing. The kitchens boast plentiful cabinets, large granite islands with storage below and walk in pantries. Large closets with ventilated shelving and unfinished loft space afford even more space to store items.
